The experience at CUHK, though brief, has been incredibly memorable and invaluable. What impressed me most is the teaching methodology that seamlessly integrates knowledge with practice. Students are afforded ample opportunities to engage with the real business world, like company visits and profound interactions with seasoned alumni and practitioners from diverse industries. The professors are approachable and always encourage us to express our thoughts freely and engage in meaningful dialogues. These experiences, beyond the acquisition of conventional knowledge, are invaluable assets that will undoubtedly enrich my life.

Working in internal communications and corporate event management, my career so far has been centred around harmonising disparate goals and priorities between internal and external stakeholders. The Corporate Communication programme has presented me insights into this wide spectrum of PR and communications, such as crisis management, marketing, and IR. Learning from our lecturers and classmates, we practice how to communicate effectively to achieve our goals. These skills have helped me develop further in my career.

Not only did the programme provide ample opportunities of dealing with practical PR challenges and strategising for corporate communication initiatives, the syllabus also enabled the development of new frontiers, including negotiation and mediation techniques, data analytics, and many more. This programme has equipped me with utile communication skills applicable to many workplace scenarios.

The Corp Comm Programme not only teaches me the knowledge and skills as a communication specialist but also inspires and grows my acumen in communications. This programme also allowed me to expand my network in business, nonprofit and government sectors. One of my most memorable and fun group work was an integrated rebranding campaign for a local long-standing business. The best part of this programme is the experienced and very friendly Professors and teaching staff! I love Corp Comm!!

FONG Tsz Kwan Venice
It was a truly remarkable two years! We experienced social unrest and a pandemic. I distinctly remember everyone in the class working so hard, even when everything was online: impressive ZOOM presentation skills including well-designed ZOOM backgrounds, the excitement of being able to deliver the first in-person presentation after a term of meeting online, and of course the chance to visit Ogilvy and present in front of PR experts, etc
Despite the challenges, I am very glad to have met many passionate professors and industry experts through the course. The course content was well curated, from the art of negotiation to the application of communications theory, through the abundant provision of real-life case studies. The key takeaway is that the course equipped me with practical frameworks to analyze the communications elements and strategies behind media incidents. Communications nowadays are fast-paced, multi-faceted, and culturally sensitive. This course has shown me how integral creativity and thoughtfulness are as the primary weapons for management judgment to devise a sensible communications strategy, which can have a huge impact on a company’s image.
