Communication Mentorship (Com-Mentor) Programme

Communication capability is a core strength of any public-facing organisations, be they for-profit or non-profit, public sector or private sector, local or global. CUHK’s Master of Social Science programme in Corporate Communication is designed to groom the next generation of communication leaders for both public and private sector organisations operating in a socio-political and business environment that is increasingly communication-driven and whose success is increasingly communication-dependent.

To enrich our student’s learning experience, our School partners with selected organisations with a sterling reputation in communication excellence as “Com-Mentor Organisations” to provide mentorship and internship opportunities to our post-graduate students in Corporate Communications.

Under the Programme, selected students work for two days a week from early February to end of April each year in a Com-Mentor Organisation under the mentorship of some of Hong Kong’s best communicators to broaden their exposure and deepen their knowledge of communication.

This is a highly selective programme that matches the best with the best: each year, only about 15 outstanding post-graduate students in Corporate Communication are selected for a deep-dive immersion in one of our Com-Mentor Organisations where they apply classroom learning to meet real life communication challenges and to use communication capability to help achieve the organization’s mission.

  Stephanie CHOI (2021)
Marketing Communications Manager, Exhibitions and Digital Business Department, Hong Kong Trade Development Council

I am very proud to be a corporate communication student of the CUHK. Being a marketing communications manager in the exhibition industry, it requires a multidisciplinary communication mindset in planning and executing campaigns that align with the company's corporate objectives. The programme opens up different doors to the business world while allowing me to embrace the core value of communication capability at a corporate eyesight. In addition, the alumni network reckons the dimension of the programme. It's definitely a treasurable learning experience.

Project Assistant, Hong Kong Polytechnic University

The most precious lesson I learned during my study in the Corporate Communication Programme is do not be afraid of trying and exploring. Do not drift through life and do what “they” do. Take your time to think and explore. Pursue what makes you happy, and what makes you meaningful to the society.

  ZHANG Yue Sandy (2019)

Experience in the Corporate Communication program is a valuable treasure and an important turning point in my life. The year in CUHK ignites my passion for the IR career, arms me with professional knowledge, and also offers me a chance to network with intelligent peers. I really appreciate the wonderful study environment created by our teachers and staff.
