Admission Requirements

In addition to the general qualifications required of by the Graduate School, strong written and verbal skills will be advantageous. Preference will also be given to applicants with relevant professional experience. Applicants from any discipline may apply.

They MUST

• possess a pass grade in English in one of the following examinations:  
   -Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (AS Level);
   -Hong Kong Higher Level Examination;
   -CUHK Matriculation Examination, OR
  
• have a degree from a university in Hong Kong or taken a degree programme of which the medium of instruction was English;OR
• achieve Level 4 or above in the English subject of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination; OR
• submit a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), or 79 (internet-based) or IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5. *TOEFL and IELTS are considered valid for two years from the test date.

Applicants are required to submit a statement of purpose in English articulating the relevance of their study plans to their career objectives and professional interests. In addition, they have to produce undergraduate transcripts as welll as two recommendation letters in which one of them must be from academic sources. Past academic performance, work experience, references, motivation and language ability will be considered.

If applicants submit multiple applications for admission to various programmes in the School, please list the programmes in a priority order of their study interest clearly. Each applicant will be given only ONE admission offer from the School if he/she is eligible.

According to the School's policy, applicants are not allowed to switch to another programme once their admission offer is accepted.
